Trans+ Folx Speak Out Press Conference

On Thursday, March 2, 2022 at 11:30 am EST/10:30 CT the Florida Coalition for Transgender Liberation (FC4TL) and allied partner organizations Women's March Florida and Florida National Organization for Women are hosting an online press conference to speak out against the continued Florida legislative attacks on Florida’s most vulnerable transgender, gender non-conforming and LGBTQ+ population.

The attack on trans+ and LGBTQ+ adults and youth in Florida continues.  In the last week and a half the Florida legislature released SIX new anti-LGBTQ+ bills last week and one this morning that make Florida unsafe for transgender and gender non-conforming people and youth and threatened more dangerous bills to come next week in a one-sided hate-filled panel on "gender dysphoria".  On top of all this, Governor DeSanti's crack down on free speech and the right to peaceful assembly at the Florida Capitol begins on March 1st with a particularly dangerous provisions about "protecting children" (the same language they have been using to justify attacks on trans+ youth and supportive educational systems and school boards).  

Trans+ advocates, and our allies, will not accept building political power through further marginalizing vulnerable trans+ and LGBTQ+ youth.  Join us and support a trans-led movement working to defend trans+ rights and fight for trans+ justice and liberation.
