FL Trans+ Gender Justice Ambassador Training

The purpose of this training is to educate volunteer advocates on transgender, gender non-conforming, gender and reproductive justice legislative issues and teach you how to advocate for trans+, gender and reproductive justice during interim committee weeks and in the 2022 legislative session.

You will learn:

1) how the state of Florida legislative system works - including how a bill becomes a bill and what you can do during that process to create noise, put pressure on policymakers and advocate for trans+, gender and reproductive justice 

2) basic talking points current trans+, gender and reproductive justice legislation that FC4TL thinks is forthcoming this session

3) how to meet with your legislator and/or target legislators and local policymakers

4) how to use local press contacts and social media to pressure legislators

5) how to record legislative responses

6) how to connect with coalition partners in your area

7) how to stay plugged in to statewide and local transgender, gender and reproductive justice issues
